POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: LIFE/EMPLOYEE BENEFITS MANAGER

Position Classification:

Reports to: Sales Manager

Primary Function: To be responsible for all functions performed in the Life/Employee Benefits Unit.

Supporting Functions:

  1. Keep abreast of trends and techniques, and research and develop new, improved selling tools and aids to maintain a competitive status for the agency within the industry.
  2. Select, recruit, train, and supervise Life/Employee Benefits department staff and producers to meet production requirements.
  3. Provide assistance to producers in prospecting and other related activities.
  4. Supervise licensing and activities related thereto.
  5. Coordinate production bulletins to keep agency informed.
  6. Promote intercommunication among departments.
  7. Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.
  8. Evaluate carriers on a regular basis.
  9. Perform the duties of a sales representative.
  10. Perform the duties of an account executive on selected accounts.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
