POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position
Title: MARKETING MANAGER
Position Classification:
Reports
to: Commercial Lines Manager
Primary
Function: To be responsible for all functions performed in the Marketing
Unit and to ensure that the unit is proving prompt, accurate and courteous
service to insureds, sales representatives and insurance companies at
the most economical cost.
Supporting Functions:
- To market to
the insurance companies all new business to the agency, as well as,
renewal exception accounts on an as needed basis, and prepare proposals
for delivery to customers.
- To assist in
the selection of all new employees in the unit.
- To be responsible
for the training of all new employees in the unit.
- To be responsible
for the quality of work produced in the unit.
- To sort, review
and distribute all incoming work to the unit.
- To communicate
all changes in the insurance marketplace to the Commercial Lines Department,
as well as, the Sales Department.
- To ensure that
all systems, procedures and insurance company regulations are adhered
to by the unit.
- To evaluate employees'
performance on a semi-annual basis.
- To ensure that
unit work load is completed during the week it is received.
- To prepare,
analyze and submit to management, work and service control reports that
communicate work received and work processed on a weekly basis.
- To perform special
projects upon management's request.

- Ability to analyze
problems, and to develop and implement plans to resolve problems
- Working knowledge
of Word, Excel and web browsing for research purposes

powerpoint, etc.
- Expertise with
photoshop, Illustrator, In Design and/ or design programs
- Basic Web/HTML
knowledge - Flash knowledge a plus
- Excellent communication
skills
- Ability to demonstrate
both creativity and brand strategy
- Ability to build
and analyze models to forecast and track results
- Ability to develop
marketing strategies for products and carriers
- Competitive
response strategy
- Direct marketing
- Experience in
putting together seminars, lectures, industry meetings/conferences
- Gather and interpret
data to determine the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and channels,
market strength.
- To set up and maintain
a product and application file system for the agency's various markets.
- To perform duties
of a Marketing Representative for selected accounts.
- To understand and
successfully use agency automation.
- To adhere to agency attendance
policy.
